Let me
tell you a bit about who I am and how I got where I am now. For privacy reasons
I won’t go into much detail, but you’ll get the idea.
I grew
up into a rather small village in the Netherlands, and went to high school
there. In high school, surprisingly little happened, it was actually one of the
most boring experiences of my life.
But
after high school I wanted to go to the university, to study chemistry. Now,
most universities located in the Netherlands didn’t really appeal to me. But
then I came across a university in Germany, and I knew that I wanted to go
there.
Without
any German language skills, I enrolled, moved to Germany and then it all began.
The first weeks were a bit though, mainly because of the problems I had with
speaking and understanding German. Anyways, my friends helped me through all
this and after a few months I basically forgot that German is not my native
language.
Now chemistry
has always interested me, and doing nothing else but chemistry now is exactly
what I want. No more boring history classes, just me and my field of interest.
During
the first year, everything was new; the language, the country, the city, the people,
the classes and so on. Now, after two years, it all comes natural to me. Things
go easy; I go to classes, do my experiments, write my exams, hang out with my
friends and girlfriend, life is good.
So that’s
where I am now, but it doesn’t end here. After majoring in chemistry, I’m going
to do research and hope to get my doctorate. It’s a dream I always had, being
able to put Dr. in front of my name all the time.
Science
is exponentially growing, and we can expect some great results in the next
decades. My biggest goal is to be a part of that. Being able to look back in my
old days and say that I took part in the expanding of human knowledge.
Greeting from US.I am so happy to watch your videos on your web side.Excellent job.I wish I can interact you in person.
